Bibi and the Lost Voice

A little bird rests, heals, and sings beautifully again.

Once upon a time, in a great sparkling forest where trees danced in the wind and birdsong filled every corner, there lived a tiny nightingale named Bibi.

Every morning, Bibi woke the forest with her beautiful songs. Flowers opened, animals smiled, and the sun seemed to shine brighter when she sang.

But one morning, something strange happened.

“Cough, cough… ahem…”
Bibi tried to sing, but only a dry little sound came out.

She tried again.
Nothing.

“Oh no!” she whispered.
“Did I forget how to sing? …Or have I lost my voice?”

Her heart felt heavy. Singing was what she loved most in the world. So she fluttered her wings and went off to find help.

Bibi’s Search for Help

First, Bibi flew to the lake where Tosi the Turtle was resting in the sun.

“Tosi, I’ve lost my voice! What should I do?” Bibi cried.

Tosi thought slowly and said,
“Well, I don’t know much about singing, but warm water is good for many things. Maybe try that.”

Bibi drank some warm water… but her voice still did not return.

Next, she hopped over to Cikcik the Rabbit, who was bouncing happily between the trees.

“Maybe carrot juice will fix it!” Cikcik said with a giggle.
Bibi drank carrot juice and even tried hopping a little.

Still… no song.

Then she flew up to Momo the Monkey, who was swinging high in the trees.

“When I lose my energy, I just shout really loud!” Momo laughed.
“Try it!”

Bibi took a deep breath.
“AAAAA!”

But only a funny, raspy sound came out.
Even Momo couldn’t stop laughing.

The Wise Owl’s Advice

Finally, tired and sad, Bibi went to see Luna the Owl, the wisest creature in the forest.

Luna looked at Bibi kindly and said,
“Dear Bibi, your voice isn’t gone. It’s just very tired.”

“Tired?” Bibi blinked.
“But I sing every day!”

“That is why,” Luna smiled.
“Even the most beautiful voices need rest. Today, don’t sing. Drink water, breathe gently, and sleep well. Tomorrow, your voice will be back.”

The Big Comeback

So Bibi did just that.
She stayed quiet all day and let her voice rest.

The next morning, she woke up, took a deep breath, and sang:

🎵 “The flowers wake on the mountain high…” 🎵

Her voice was clear, bright, and beautiful again!

Bibi flew joyfully through the forest.
The animals cheered.

“BIBI IS BACK!” shouted Momo.
“Your song is wonderful!” said Cikcik.
Even Tosi smiled and nodded.
“So rest really does help!”

And So…

From that day on, Bibi kept singing—but she also remembered to rest when she needed to.
Because she had learned that the best music comes from a heart and voice that are well cared for.

And the forest once again filled with melodies, dancing leaves, and happy laughter.

Three little gifts fell from the sky:
One for the reader,
One for the storyteller,
And one for every little bird who remembers to take care of their voice. 🐦
