Once upon a time, in a green garden full of flowers, there lived a proud Peacock.
He loved to walk slowly, spreading his colorful feathers and saying:
“Look at me! I am the most beautiful bird in the world.”
Every day, the Peacock laughed at the other animals.
He laughed at the Duck’s short legs, the Crow’s black feathers, and especially at the small Sparrow.
“You are tiny and plain,” said the Peacock. “You will never be important.”
The Sparrow did not answer. She only smiled and continued to sing sweet songs every morning.
One day, a strong storm came.
The wind was wild, and the rain was heavy. The Peacock tried to fly, but his large feathers became wet and heavy. He could not move and felt very afraid.
The little Sparrow flew quickly and found a safe place under a roof.
Then she returned and said:
“Follow me. I will show you where to hide.”
The Peacock was surprised, but he followed the Sparrow. She led him to safety.
After the storm, the Peacock bowed his head and said:
“I was wrong. Beauty is not everything. Kindness and wisdom are more important.”
From that day on, the Peacock stopped laughing at others, and the Sparrow’s song sounded happier than ever.
Moral:
Do not be proud of how you look. True value comes from kindness and humility.
