Ethan did not like rainy days at all. Whenever it rained, he couldn’t go outside, play in the park, or ride his bike, so he would sit by the window and feel bored. One morning, raindrops tapped quickly against the glass while the sky stayed gray. Ethan frowned and said, “I wish it would never rain!”
His mother was in the kitchen making tea when she heard him. She came over with a gentle smile and said, “Did you know that rain has an important job?” Ethan looked at her with curiosity, but he didn’t seem convinced. “What kind of job could it have? It only ruins my fun!” he replied.
That day, Ethan felt so bored that he went to bed early. In his dream, he found himself in a magical place filled with tall green trees. A soft rain was falling from the sky, and everything looked calm and fresh. Just as he was about to run away, a tiny raindrop landed on his shoulder and said, “Don’t be afraid, we are your friends!”
Ethan looked around in surprise. “Can you really talk?” he asked. The raindrop shimmered gently and replied, “Yes, because we want to show you something special!” Soon, more raindrops gathered around him, and together they drifted down toward the ground.
Ethan watched as the raindrops touched the dry soil. Slowly, the plants began to come back to life. A small flower lifted its head and said, “Thank you!” Ethan’s eyes widened, and he said, “So you help plants grow!” The raindrop nodded and said, “Yes, without us, trees, flowers, and even some animals could not survive.”
As they moved further, they came across a little stream. It was almost dry, but as the raindrops fell into it, the water level began to rise. Fish jumped happily and shouted, “Hooray, the water is back!” Ethan smiled and said, “So you also fill rivers and streams!”
The raindrop sparkled softly and said, “That’s not all!” Together, they rose up into the sky, and Ethan found himself inside a cloud. The raindrops explained, “We travel up to the sky and then return to the earth again. This is how the world never runs out of water.” Ethan looked amazed and said, “I never thought about it like that.”
After a while, the dream slowly began to fade. The raindrop looked at Ethan and said, “Now you know our secret!” Ethan smiled and replied, “Yes, I will love the rain from now on!” Then he closed his eyes.
When Ethan woke up the next morning, it was still raining. He ran to the window, but this time he was smiling. Looking outside, he said, “Thank you!” His mother came over and asked, “No complaints about the rain today?”
Ethan shook his head and said, “No, because rain protects the world!” From that day on, Ethan no longer felt sad when it rained. Instead, he felt happy, knowing that every drop of rain brings life to nature. And he never forgot that rain is a hidden hero.
