The Chubby Pig Who Learned to Share

A warm farm tale about sharing, friendship, and change.

Once upon a time, on a sunny little farm surrounded by apple trees, there lived a chubby pig named Porky. Porky loved many things—muddy puddles, warm naps, and especially food. Crunchy carrots, juicy apples, sweet corn… he loved them all so much that he never shared a single bite.

When the other animals gathered for meals, Porky would hurry to the trough first, spread his body wide, and grunt, “Mine, mine, all mine!” The duck waddled away hungry, the goat sighed sadly, and even the friendly cow stopped asking.

“Why won’t Porky share?” they whispered. “We could be such good friends.”

But Porky didn’t listen. With a full belly, he thought he needed nothing else.

One day, a big storm hit the farm. Rain poured down, and the wind shook the trees. The animals huddled together in the barn, sharing warmth and comfort. Porky arrived late. He had food, but no one made space for him.

“There’s no room,” said the sheep gently. “We’re all squeezed together.”

Porky sat alone in the corner. His stomach was full, but his heart felt strangely empty. For the first time, he noticed how lonely it was to have food but no friends.

The next morning, the sun returned, and so did the animals. When breakfast time came, Porky took a deep breath. He pushed the food toward the others and said, softly, “Would you like some?”

The duck quacked in surprise. The goat smiled. The cow nodded kindly.

From that day on, Porky shared his meals—and something wonderful happened. Laughter filled the farm, games lasted longer, and Porky realized that sharing didn’t make him lose anything. It made his world bigger.

And so, the chubby pig learned that food fills the belly, but friendship fills the heart.

The End.
